3 Steps to Managing the Life You So Desire!

We all have the same 24 hours in the day…

Whether you’re Beyonce or just some guy on the street, the clock works the same.

We all fall prey to the “I don’t have enough time” syndrome. And, certainly, our lives are very hectic. But are they as hectic as we believe them to be or are we just not managing our time in a way that allows us to accomplish the things that really matter and fulfill us?

Stacey Garcia, Nutrition Director and member of the team who runs our personal training in Northridge and Encino, weighs in on the 3 Steps to Managing the Life You So Desire!”

#1 – Are you being “busy” or “productive?”

At the end of the day do you feel that you got a lot accomplished or did you move piles of paper from one side of the desk to the other?

There’s a difference.

Productive people get stuff done that matters.

Busy people create a lot of activity but produce little. It’s important to self-reflect and get clear on which one you tend to do.

If you want to make the most out of your 24 hours, be productive; prioritize, eliminate distractions and tackle one project at a time.

#2 – Levels of Importance

Everything is not equal. Some things matter more than others, but it’s up to you to establish priority.

Make sure to identify the most important tasks of the day and ink them into your to-do list.

If looking good, feeling good and treating your life with respect is important, prioritize your exercise and nutrition tasks and get them done.

If you don’t get them done just own the fact that they are not really priorities. Then, determine if that’s okay or if you want to change that.

#3 – Delegate

If you have more priorities on your plate than you can effectively manage, ask for help!

Sure, if you have the means to hire an assistant, coach, trainer, etc., do so. But if you don’t, then don’t be afraid to ask friends and family for some assistance.

There is power in having the ability to ask for help. Or demand it!

If we take a HARD look at how we’re operating I think we’ll find that there is fat in our schedule. We spend too much time mindlessly scrolling Facebook and Instagram, we allow our texts to continually interrupt what we’re doing, we check our email 30 times a day.

But if we scale down our needless busywork and focus up, we have the capacity to get all of the things that matter done!
