It’s Race Time!

The Spartan Sprint is coming to Los Angeles on December 10th and, as usual, Arena Fitness will be fielding a team. We welcome you to join us over the next 10 weeks in preparation for this event and to run with us in Castaic on race day!

Daniela Stratman, SGX Instructor and Arena Fitness OCR Coordinator, recently featured on NBC’s Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge, is leading the charge for Spartan Race training in Encino!

Have you always wanted to do a race?

If so, there’s no time like the present. We can assure you that you’re capable of doing it. If you need a challenge in your life, if you’re looking for something tangible to train for, if you need something to inspire you to up your game, this is it.

And we’ll help you every step of the way!

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced…

We’re here to help you. Here’s how to get started:

Then sign up for our Adventure Racing Page on Facebook!

Once you have signed up, you’re committed! Then you can decide on a course of action:

  1. Follow the weekly blog posts that we will be sharing and train on your own, following the training instructions, week-by-week, all the way up until race day and then run with us on the course!
  2. Train with us AND run with us on race day! Here’s a link for a One Week Trial if you’d like to get a sense of what that would be like.

In either case, you’re welcome to run with us on race day and we will help you along the course and make sure you cross the finish line in one piece!

Here are your Week 10 Assignments!

If you are a beginner….
  • 1/2 mile jog/run at least 2x this week. Try to jog/run without stopping at your best pace.
  • 30 burpees 2x this week. Do them in 3 sets of 10. Time yourself and see how fast you can do them.
  • 30 squats 2x this week.
  • 30 push ups 2x this week. Do 6 sets of 5 or 3 sets of 10.
  • Go to a park, or some place that has monkey bars or pull up bars, and do a 30 second dead hang at least 2x this week.
If you have experience….
  • Run 1 mile at least 3x this week. Try to run your mile without stopping. Do 10 burpees at the start, and 10 burpees at the finish of your mile.
  • Do 20 squat jumps at 1/2 mile.
  • Do 30 push ups 3x this week. Try to do them in sets of 15 without stopping.
  • Go to a park, or some place that has monkey bars or pull up bars, and do a 30-60 second dead hang 3 times this week.
  • If possible, do 5 pull-ups 3x this week.
