“Seriously, I found this place by a Google search, looked at the Yelp reviews, and thought there is no way this place had that many 5 stars without their  friend’s padding the reviews! BUT!!! Big BUT!!! This place is AMAZING! The training is unbeleivable!!! This is a family owned, two gym operation with some of the best training ever. The classes are limited to about 12 people, and you get personal attention EVERY class. I go to the Northridge location and Will is a great trainer,  very tough workout, but friendly and super personable atmosphere. Also, try the Balanced Habits Kickstart program, the food you eat is actual food, it’s all normal stuff but perfect balanced nutrition using the science of macronutrients. I actually thought it was too much food!!! No way does that ever happen!! I’m a fat dude that likes eating! I lost 10 pounds and honestly called the nutritionist Stacey and told her I can’t consume this much food, she said “Try!” There is no food deprivation in this program, finally a program where I can eat, feel full, but still lose weight because of PROPER PROPORTIONING AND CORRECT NUTRIENTS VALUES. Anyways, getting off my soapbox, go try this place and program, stop messing around, do something that actually works and get training that is LEGIT!”

“I’m a dad, husband and a business owner. Days can be busy, sometimes I get to the gym and

 “It was time to re-think the rest of my healthy lifestyle, and focus on my diet too in order to get to my next level of desired fitness.  I signed up for my first Kick Start program – which was a big deal for me, because I am one of those people who like to think that I don’t need help, and that I have all the answers.   The nutritionist, Stacey, made it super easy – follow the simple rules and you will see results.  The nutrition diary and “foodie-approved” recipes kept me accountable without any of the guilt and depravity that I always felt on various “fad diets”. The comradery of having a group of other clients and trainers all doing it together, with a competitive challenge, made it all the more reason to stick with it.     In my first Kickstart, I had my challenges – work travel, busy lifestyle, job and family stresses – there were many reasons (a.k.a. excuses) to not follow the plan.  I did not give up though and was very pleased with the weight loss and muscle gain results.  I refused to go back to making excuses.
 
The Kickstart program helped remind me of the power of positivity and provided me with the tools to make good decisions that I could continue to incorporate into my lifestyle long after the actual Kickstart program was done.  What a difference drinking the proper amount of water and properly fueling your body can do!  Most importantly, my health improved…my insomnia, joint pain and migraines all went away…this was the true game changer for me.  I was a believer.  It was a no-brainer to sign up for another Kickstart the following year to brush up on the good-habit building and continue to dedicate myself to better health.  More dedicated to the goal than ever before, I stuck to the plan and lost nearly 10 more pounds of fat and fit nicely into my skinny jeans that had been sitting in my closet building dust for years.

I think the main reason TDL has been successful for me is because I don’t feel deprived. It’s all about portion control and the correct # of portions. But if I’m craving bread or something crunchy like chips, I’ll account for those carbs in my meals. Other meal plans omit foods altogether but that isn’t a realistic way to approach food for me.

I’ve followed other macro diets (along with countless others) before but TDL converts macros into units that’s pretty easy to remember. Once you recognize basic foods and how to convert into units, it’s not difficult to follow. That being said, it does take effort and diligence. What you get out of it is what you put into it. So yes, it will take some time to measure out foods or meal prep from time to time but when I started getting busy mid week, I definitely didn’t regret spending an afternoon shopping and cooking food ahead of time.
