What’s the recipe for weight loss success? Meal Prep!

When it comes to nutrition and weight loss you need to have a plan in place.

Today we welcome Lorena Flores, owner of Peaceful Pl8, a food prep service, to share her wisdom on the necessity of meal prepping.

Meal Prep Keys to Success:

  1. Keep it simple: Choose one or two healthy variations of breakfast and alternate them. So, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday you have one type of delicious smoothie and on Tuesday and Thursday you have another version of smoothie (or egg dish, for that matter). Alternating two healthy meals will give you some variety and a wider range of nutrients, but is a simple enough to be a time saver. This goes for lunch, too. And dinner. You get the picture.
  2. Get your friends and family involved. Enrolling the important people in your life into your meal prepping plan encourages a solid support network and, heck, they may even help you in the kitchen! And, if you can make a family meal that is healthy, you can pack up any leftovers for future meals.
  3. Don’t stress. This goes back to Key #1, keep it simple. Don’t spend more than an hour in the kitchen, keep the recipes simple and delicious. The point of meal prepping is to save time and money, so don’t try to be a gourmet chef!
