Personal Training

 The Breakdown/Philosophy

Personal Training formula for success

There is a difference between "working out" and "training."  At Arena Fitness, we "train."  What is "training?"  Training is the process of implementing a specific and systematic approach to fitness for the purpose of progressing and improving.  We operate with an athletic mindset, whether our clients are athletes or not!  Athletes come to the gym with a plan and a purpose, they show up early, ready to dedicate themselves wholly to the tasks at hand.  That's why they're constantly improving their performance.  You don't need a sport to be an athlete, you just need to train with purpose.  At Arena Fitness, you can be sure that, whether you're a beginner, out of shape, a weekend warrior or a former competitive athlete, you're going to be surrounded by a staff with a plan and a mission to awaken your inner athlete.  So, whether you're interested in personal training, semi private training, group classes, weight loss contests or adventure races, we have a plan for you!  Oh, and one more thing; we'll probably be in the trenches training right alongside you at times.  After all, we will never expect you to train with a commitment that we ourselves won't bring!

So, what can you expect to do when you're training at Arena Fitness?  Read on and you'll see...

Strength and Conditioning Program

Circuit Training

This workout is designed to focus on Muscular Endurance & Strength.  Three to five stations are pre-designed with two exercises at each station. You will complete three to five rounds of these stations, depending on your fitness level, and will end the rounds with an intense cardiovascular interval. These workouts use higher reps and light to moderate resistance in order to challenge and improve your endurance. This is the main workout design used in all of our training programs.

Sprints

Let’s get that heart pumping! This workout is meant to focus on muscular endurance and power. Sprint workouts consist of three full-body exercises followed by an intense cardiovascular interval. These workouts use lower reps and moderate to high resistance in order to challenge your absolute power and build endurance. If you are looking to increase your overall athleticism, these workouts are the way to go!

AMRAP

This workout design will teach clients the importance of Intensity through friendly competition. AMRAP means As Many Rounds As Possible. This workout design utilizes a combination of body weight exercises and strength exercises with a preset amount of repetitions determined by the trainer. Clients will try to complete the list of exercises as fast as possible, and complete as many rounds as possible in a specific time frame. AMRAPs are a great way to push clients past their breaking point in order to achieve results they never thought were possible.

Cardiovascular Strength

Cardiovascular Strength

Cardio is boring, you say? We know! No one likes cardio when it involves dragging yourself onto a machine and spending half the day on it. We don't do that at Arena Fitness. We believe that the best Cardiovascular Strength can be achieved by implementing Interval Training into your Personal Training Program. What is Interval TrainingInterval Training consists of short bursts of intense effort followed by moderate to light levels of cardiovascular exercise done back to back for a specified duration of time. We utilizeInterval Training in our Strength & Conditioning Program to give you the best overall result. If you are training for Weight Loss or getting in shape for one of our Adventure Races, this type of Cardiovascular Strength will leave your friends and family wondering how you achieved your Fitness Goals and possibly get you into our coveted Beast of the Week Club!

We utilize 3 main types of Cardiovascular Equipment at Arena Fitness in order to address specific training needs of our clientele.

This Treadmill offers real results for people that really want to get results. The only Treadmill with a 50% Grade and also the ability to Decline! Why Tomahawk Spin Bikes?  Tomahawk, at the time we purchased them, was owned by FreeMotion Fitness, the king of functional cable-based strength training equipment.  The quality of FreeMotion products is unsurpassed, and we wanted to bring only the best and brightest bikes into our space!  The company is no longer under the FMF umbrella, but the quality workmanship and user-friendly functionality remain.

Self-Myofascial Release Techniques

SMFR (Self-Myofascial Release Techniques)

A simple roll of foam can improve flexibility, function and performance, as well as reduce injuries. In a nutshell, our clients use their own body weight to roll on a round foam roll, massaging away restrictions to normal soft-tissue extensibility. Clients can perform this program prior to their training session, which maximizes recovery time and the ability to recruit muscle groups that may have previously been inhibited or previously lacked the ability to engage during exercise. SMFR is a form of Correctional Flexibility that will improve anyone’s Personal Training Program in order to yield the greatest results.
