FAQ’s

Q:  How do you differ from health clubs?

A:  Well, assuming by “health club” you mean big-box, chain gyms, then the answer is that we really don’t have any similarities at all with health clubs.  But, to be specific:

  • You will never have an unpleasant, high-pressure sales experience at Arena Fitness.  As a matter of fact, you probably won’t feel as if you ever have a “sales” experience at all.  Our job is simply to share what it is that we do with you and give you the opportunity to join in if it feels right.
  • We don’t do long-term contracts.  We feel as if it is our job to earn your trust every month.
  • We aren’t overcrowded, our system won’t allow it.
  • No expensive up-front fees.
  • Our system is designed to allow us to provide REAL customer service.
  • We’ll let you try us out for free.

Q:  How do you differ from other personal training studios?

A:  To be fair, we’re not knowledgeable about every other facility up and down the boulevard.  But, compared to the facilities about which we have knowledge we differ in the following ways:

  • We specialize in semi-private training and have been doing so since we opened in 2003.  It’s a more dynamic and affordable method of training than traditional private training.
  • Our F.I.T. Station layout provides for a free-form training environment that is much more beneficial and comprehensive than machine based training.
  • We offer a Team Training approach in which we encourage our clients to work with all of our trainers.  This increases training diversity and offsets training burnout.  If you work with the same trainer week after week, month after month, you will eventually get bored.  Team Training is the solution to this.
  • Our innovative monthly programs make personal training affordable and our use of technology makes progress tracking and scheduling simple and effective.

Q:  What is Semi-Private Training?

A:  Semi-private training is when up to 4 people train together with one trainer.  It increases the training variation possibilities, adds a fun social dynamic and reduces the cost of personal training by as much as 50% over traditional one-on-one training.

Q:  If I want to do semi-private training do I have to provide my own training partners?

A:  Nope.  We have plenty of available semi-private training sessions that you can join.  The only scenario that might warrant the need to provide your own training partner is if you want to train at unusual times.

Q:  What if I’ve never done personal training before?  Can I still do semi-private training?

A:  Yep.  The great thing about semi-private training is that we can modify any session to accommodate the participants, regardless of their fitness level and/or athleticism.  Beginning, intermediate and advanced clients can train together in the same session without compromising the quality of the training.

Q:  Are there any scenarios under which I would not be suited for semi-private training?

A:  Yes.  If you have physical limitations, injuries or post-rehab circumstances that require special attention we will recommend private training instead.

Q:  Do you offer one-on-one training if I don’t want to do semi-private training?

A:  Yes.

Q:  Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

A:  No.  Everything we do is month-to-month or by the package.  We would rather earn your business every month than force you to stay with us.  It is our position that you should NEVER sign a long-term contract with a personal trainer or gym.

Q:  Do I have to put down a ton of money up front?

A:  Nope.  We think you’ll find it’s surprisingly affordable.  If you call for pricing we won’t make you jump through a bunch of hoops, we’ll explain the details to you.

Q:  Do I have to be 18 to join?

A:  Nope.  We have clients as young as 12 years old, we just require minors to have parental consent and sign a waiver for you.

Q:  Do you offer any group exercise classes?

A:  Yes, click here for details.

Q:  What can I expect in a training session?

A:  Every session is different, but there will always be strength, cardio, flexibility and balance elements incorporated in the session.

Q:  Do you offer kickboxing?

A:  Yes, we have group classes and also integrate it into our sessions.

Q:  Can I try you out before joining?

A:  Absolutely.  We will allow you to try semi-private training for FREE for one week to see if it’s what you are looking for.  You should always try out a gym or trainer in advance before committing yourself.  If they won’t let you do so for free, run.
